MY YOGA JOURNEY- the 26

It all started when…

I signed up for my first official yoga class in February 2018. After the initial discomfort of being new at something this transformational practice took hold. My previous fitness excursions covered the spectrum of traditional American sports and mixed martial arts. This practice, The Classic 26, the 26 + 2, Bikram, Hatha Hot Yoga, compliments, conditions, and enhances body movement on and off the mat.

After training in this practice for three years I desired to go deeper in my study and practice by enrolling in a Yoga Teacher Training course taught by Debbie Dixon through Be Yoga Burien. Exploring the wisdom of the ancients and integrating a habitual routine created a stronger bond to the natural world through a deeper connection to my own body.

FIND THE BALANCE

I love Yoga because I love my work, being a freelance producer and performer. Getting paid to play video games is a dream come true, but sitting down for hours producing events or broadcasting live in front of a screen can turn into a nightmare for the body. The 26 creates a habitual, challenging practice that requires my entire self, on the mat, with the focus on the present.

I find when my mind and body are in such a balanced state I am able to work and rest much more effectively.

Helping Digital Natives Connect To Their Natural Self

The wonders of today bring convenience and entertainment beyond what previous generations imagined, but they do not replace the nature of the human experience. The more we are able to control this vital life force through the connection of our body the easier happiness will find us.

If it’s working out pretty well for me three years in, then I HIGHLY suggest you at least give it a try. I’ll be your guide :)
